Getting ready for off-season workouts

One more from Tommy's visit -- we're both pretty good at throwing the ball, but neither one of us is ready to replace DeSean Jackson yet.

Parade time

Bowie had its annual Memorial Day parade, and Tommy came down this year to watch it with me. He brought Aunt Beth too, although she didn't have awesome flag pants like the woman who sat next to us.

Most of the floats and bands were awesome, but the people on stilts were pretty creepy. They kept wanting us to give them a high five, but I just couldn't get up that high.

But the main attraction, as always, were the fire trucks and the fire chief's car. Dad didn't get a good picture of them, because I told him that he was blocking our view. Pictures are great, but there's nothing like seeing a fire truck up close.

From a small seed...

We planted a Jonathan tree earlier this spring, and it's already starting to bloom.

Testing out the arm

I just need a little more practice, and pretty soon I'll be able to play catch with the birds.

No pictures, please

Lousy paparazzi -- can't a guy just get a nap once in a while?

Dad's note: No, I didn't. That's how I found him when I walked in the room.

Steady hand

It takes a lot of concentration to build these castles ... and then knock them down a few seconds after I'm finished.

Almost summer

It was so nice and warm on Mother's Day. we decided to pull out the pool and test out my new swimsuit. Mom didn't want to get in the water with me, so I did my best to splash her and keep her cool.

Testing the new playground

Grandmom and Pop Doyle had a new playground open right by their house, so Ollie and I went over to test it out this weekend. The monkey bars are pretty good for swinging.

It also has a convenient size chart, so I can double check my height. I'm 3 and a half feet tall, give or take a few wood chips.

And there were a lot of ladders to test out. Lily and Maggie helped make sure they were all up to standard.  Overall, I was pretty pleased. If they just had a slide big enough for Pop to go on with me, it'd be perfect.

A balanced diet

Yes, that's me, eating my broccoli instead of the cookies right next to me. Because I love broccoli.

Yes, I know it's a little weird.

Signs of spring

I don't get it. Where did the flower go?
