Down by the old watering hole

I could get used to relaxing on the dock all day...

On vacation

I'm hanging out with Grandmom and Pop-Pop Shane up the Poconos this week (without Mom and Dad!) so I've got my tigers and books and cars packed to go. And some clothes too, I think. I need a bigger suitcase.

Bear time again, age 4.5

Dad always pulls out that big bear to show off how much I've grown, and every time it shows almost no change. To illustrate just how little I've grown, I pulled out my shirt from last year so you can't tell the difference in the pictures at all.

First, here's me at 3.5 years old:

And here's me today:

Looks exactly the same to me. My legs are just as far off the floor as they always were.

The photo shoots are getting more fun as the years pass by, however:

Two Jonathans

I think having two of me would be blast, but when I mentioned it to Dad, he fainted. I wonder if he has been eating enough to keep his energy up.

Splash park

I got a chance to check out the country splash park this weekend -- did you know they make some pools so big you could fit a train in them? I had a lot of fun showing Mom and Dad how to do push ups in the water and how to make waves by kicking. It was really fun. We have to get one of these in our back yard.

Train spotting

Pop Doyle and I found the best new for watching trains at the local station. I showed it to Mom and Dad today, but they don't get as excited about the fast trains as Pop does. Maybe it's because they take the trains every day. But I still think they're all exciting.

New bedroom set

Mom and Dad decided it was time for me to get a new bedroom set, so the baby can use my old crib and drawers. So, here's what the old bedroom looked like ...

... and here's the new set!

The bed is really cool. It has a drawers underneath and even an extra bed for when cousins come to visit. I tried to get Dad to test it out, but he said he's too long.

I'm pretty excited about the new set up. You really should come visit and see it for yourself.

The bush song

Look for this one to move up the Top 40 charts pretty fast:

The Elmwood Zoo

GIRAFFES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Granmom, Pop-Pop and Aunt Kate took us to the Elmwood Zoo on our visit to Warminster last weekend. There was stuff beside the giraffes, but, really, we just went to see the giraffes. The koi fish were really fun too. And the donkeys in this picture were friendly, and a lot smaller than the bison. I wonder why all these animals decided to live in the Philly suburbs together.

The zoo had a caterpillar train too, and Pop-Pop took me for a ride on it. The caterpillar is a lot smaller than Thomas, but it was fun.

And I got to ride on an alligator! OK, it wasn't a real alligator. It was just part of the playground. But they did have a real alligator, and he looked friendly. Maybe I'll try and ride him on the next visit.

Visiting Warminster

I'm a few days behind putting up these pictures, but I got to visit Tommy (and the rest of the Shanes) up in Warminster this weekend. Pop's back yard is almost all back together again, so we tested out the lawn with a sprinkler and a soccer ball to make sure it's almost ready.

The swing set isn't back together yet, so Tommy and I practiced our swinging on the porch seat. We sat there for about three seconds before we ran around the yard 30 more times.

We did sit still when Aunt Kate agreed to read us some Superman books. She's really good at that. She seemed a little upset when we both sat on her lap at the same time, but I think she got over it quick.

The story of Arduck's castle

Dad's note: Jonathan started telling us a story at dinner, so I asked him to repeat it afterwards. He added a little more in the final version.

Surveying the fields

I dunno, Tigger. The flowers are already fallin' and the grass is getting yellow. Reckon it's gonna be a long summer.
