Telling jokes

Jonathan has the funniest stories. I hope he keeps telling me them for a long time.

And he's really patient too. And he has strong hair.

On the links

I'm a little late on this, but Dad and I hit the mini-golf course a little while back to start working on my backup career as a professional golfer (Dad still says I need to learn how to pitch left-handed so I can be a Phillies middle reliever for 15 years). I'm not trying to brag, I got a hole-in-one on my third hole, and I hit the ball straight into the water on the sixth hole. Dad said you're not actually supposed to get the ball wet, but, c'mon. It'd be boring if you just kept it on the green part the whole time.

Eating time

So this squash thing -- is that the name of it, or what I'm supposed to do to it before it goes in my mouth?

Taking the plunge

Since today was Fathers' Day, I decided to surprise Dad by going in the big pool with him for the first time. I'm not sure why it took so long to get in there -- Dad is tall enough to stand in the three-foot-end of the pool, so there was really no reason for him to be scared. I showed him how to put his face in the water and bounce up and down, and he loved it. So next time, maybe he won't fight me as much.

Pretty in peach

No, it's definitely a peach dress, not pink. Mom won't let me wear pink.

What a comfy pillow

You'd think there would be enough room for the two of us in this giant hammock, but you would be wrong.

Lexi's birthday

This weekend was cousin Lexi's one-year birthday party, and she rocked it like a boss.

It took her a while to wake up for the big event, because even big girls need to get their beauty rest. So, while we waited, Jonathan and I explained to Grandmom how the playsets at Uncle Mike's house work. Mom wouldn't stop hamming it up for the camera.

But once Lexi woke up, there was no stopping her. She was showing me all of Ollie's cars and opening presents and saying hi to everyone and ... boy, that girl can move.

Here she is with her godfather, Uncle Andrew. Totally charmed the heck out of him, of course.

With everyone paying attention to us little ladies, that didn't leave a lot of time to spend with Grandmom and Pop Doyle. But, luckily Jonathan and Ollie helped us out with that.

The whole thing was so exciting but exhausting. I've gotta rest up for my party in a few more months.

Scooting around

Running around everywhere is fine, but I'm gonna need to up my game a bit if I want real speed. So since Dad won't let me borrow the car yet, I'm gonna be practicing my scooter a lot this summer.

School picture

So this photographer came to daycare a little while ago and he told me I had to pose and smile and I was all like "Dad takes pictures of me all the time so I don't really know why this is necessary" but he had some keys he was shaking and they were shiny and fun to look at and then he was done and Grandmom was all excited to have something to put in a frame so it's all good.

Balloon fun

I just don't understand why this thing keeps falling up when everything else falls down.

Preschool graduation

Today was graduation day at preschool, which is pretty much the most important part of anyone's academic career. So we invited family from everyone in the class to show off some of the stuff we learned and to show off our cool blue hats.

Here's use reciting a poem for the event:

And we also had a slideshow of pictures from way back when we were young. My favorite is still that photo of me in the Phillies hat, but Dad was too slow to get that one on camera. So this is a pretty good runner up:

Then we got our diplomas and awards.

Then the teachers said something really interesting about how wonderful we are:

And that was it! We all walked out and went to a pizza party, which is how all school events should end.

So, I'm a graduate now! I'm pretty sure I can use this diploma to start going to work with Mom or Dad. I still don't really understand what they do at work, but they have to take a train to get there, so I'm all for it.

Got him!

OK, Jonathan, now's our chance. You tickle him while I have him pinned down.
