Did you think there was any way that we were going to have Tommy and Shane visit for the weekend and NOT watch Star Wars? C'mon. 

Memorial Day parade

Saturday was the annual Bowie Memorial Day parade, one of our favorite events of the year because it seems like the whole city walks through our neighborhood. And this year, Tommy and Shane came down to see it all with us. 

The parade had everything: 

All sorts of community groups marching.

Fire trucks and other loud equipment. 

Giant flags and little flags waving patriotically. 

 

And goofballs. Lots of goofballs. 

Don't mess with my dog

He's with me. Don't even think about it. 

Jump around

A little more practice and we're ready for the Olympic high jump.

Afternoon snack

What? I need Cheerios if you expect me to mess up this room even further.

OK, maybe Dad is getting a little better with the hair. But I'd still feel better if Aunt Beth stopped by. 

Funday at school

I got to go to my school's annual funday for the first time this weekend, and it lived up to the name: 

They had all sorts of crazy games and a even a mini ferris wheel. Here I am playing Plinko, which Dad said is part of a game show on TV but seems like a pretty silly thing to show to a mass audience.

Emma had fun too, since she got to meet the local baseball team's mascot. I think she liked that he matched her shirt.

OK, Dad, we'll stop playing for a minute and look civilized. But after this we're playing the "Tackle the Pillows and Scream" game again.
