Memorial Day parade

Tommy and Shane came down to visit over the holiday weekend, so we got to take them to our neighborhood holiday parade. All the grown-ups said we needed to hold hands to cross the street, but Shane and I found a loophole in that rule.

We met up with some other friends down at the park and got to see a whole lot of wacky things: horses, marching bands, Steny Hoyer.

Some of the stuff was really loud, as Tommy and Shane can tell you. Still, it's pretty cool to have all those big trucks drive right by. Next year maybe we can get the parade to go down our street.

Spring dance recital

I LOVE WEBBY DANCE!!!

We had our spring dance recital for parents this week, and I was awesome. I'll let my moves speak for themselves.

Dancing is so much fun. I can't wait until we pick up classes again in the fall.

Comfy seat

I don't even care what show we watch. Just make sure it's a long one.

Fun Day at school

Fun Day is always the best day at school, because all the classrooms are filled with games instead of tests and homework. Sure, you have to go into school on a Saturday to take part, but it's worth it.

Plinko is always one of my favorite games. You don't win cash in this version, which is the only real downside.

They also had bounce house basketball, which was ... difficult. I've got to work on my outside game.

I'm not totally sure what this game is called, but it was a lot more fun than math work. We should be doing this every day.

Cub scout moving up ceremony

After a year of hard work with the scouts, I advanced from a Wolf rank to the Bear rank at our close-of-the-year ceremony. To cap the achievement, I got to walk across the pack's ceremonial bridge.

It was a little weird, considering the bridge didn't really lead anywhere and it would have been quicker to just walk around it. But, wearing my uniform was fun, and I can't wait to see what activities we do next year.

Here's my whole den, ready for a summer break and then more adventures.

Worst race ever

All I know is somebody keeps losing. And it's all hilarious.

Almost camping trip

Dad and I headed out to a local park with the Cub Scouts on Saturday for an overnight camping trip. First we did a little fishing, where I taught a worm on a hook how to swim but didn't get any bites.

Then Dad, Emma and I set up our tent for the night. There wasn't a lot of room, but it was still pretty awesome to have a bed in the woods.

Emma was trying to find where woodpeckers sleep, but it didn't look as comfy.

After a big cookout dinner, the rain started to come down hard, so we had to cancel our plans for the sleepout. But we'll find a calmer week to stay outside for the night. And we still had a ton of fun playing in the woods for the day.

More running action

Final race of the season for me, and Dad finally got a shot of me using proper form. This was just the 100 meter. Next year I'll start running the 3000.

First communion

Sunday was my First Communion over at Sacred Heart. Emma rocked a nice spring dress, but my coat and tie combo really was the winner.

Here I am relaxing with the other boys after the service. We couldn't take any pictures in church, so you'll just have to trust me when I tell you I was extra reverent and prayerful

And afterwards we had a big family party. I wanted to get everyone in the picture, but the grandmoms said just Mom, Dad, Emma and me was enough. It was an awesome day!

Thumbs up

Sure, Dad. That shirt looks great on you.
