Getting ready for next season

The trash can isn't the ideal basket, but it's never too early to get some practicing in.

Summer relaxation

Why do we have to change out of our pajamas before lunchtime?

Turtle pond

We counted at least 15 turtles at Fox Hill pond this weekend. Emma and I wanted to take a few home to feed, but Dad said they'd probably snap his fingers off, so we left them there to visit next time.

Dissatisfied ladybug

Admit it, you wish you could pull off this outfit as well as I do.

Nail polish with grandmom

It's tough work to look this fabulous, but luckily Grandmom was there to help me out.

Father's Day golf outing

Since it was Father's Day today, we took Dad out for a few golf lessons. He kept holding the putter sideways, so I showed him how to bump it with the front like a pool cue. A few more times out and he'll get it.

Happy face?

Dad said to smile, so...

We're working on it.

Cub Scout fishing derby

Our pack had its annual fishing derby at Allen Pond Park. I managed to snag five sunnies, thanks to Dad's help and Pop's lucky fishing pole.

It was totally fun -- I can't wait for next fall to see what stuff we'll do with for our Bear badge.

Sprinkler time

Pools are fun, but there's a lot more running with a sprinkler.

Last day of second grade

Wait, where did the whole school year go?

That's a third-grader right there. Hard to imagine that's the same kid as this

Shooting hoops with Uncle Mike

Not bad form. But I've got to get Uncle Mike to teach me a better turn-around jumper before I'm ready for one-on-one with Dad.

More cousin fun

We had a busy weekend with the Quinn boys -- after the parade, we took a trip to our local nature park for a long walk in the woods.

Uncle Tom caught us how to catch frogs. He's really good at finding the little hoppers in the leaves. He said he used to do it all the time as a kid, but I think he must be practicing at home.

The next day we headed over to the Baltimore Aquarium for more nature exploring. Jonathan wanted to take a swim with the sharks, but Mom said no.

They had awesome Dory and Nemo fish there, and tons of pretty coral. But Dad said we couldn't take any home with us. I feel like he didn't even try.

But it was a ton of fun anyways. I think we could have stayed there all day if Tommy and Shane didn't have to go home. Next time, we'll have them stay for even longer.
