Emma party number ... 2? 3? 4?
I don't know, there were a lot of parties. But this one I got to share my birthday with Shane, who turned five just a few weeks after I turned 4. Aunt Beth and Mom said he and I couldn't have the fancy cake all to ourselves, but I'm pretty confident we would have taken care of it.

Emma party #1
You need three things for a great birthday party:
You need some presents.
You need some cake. And you need some great friends and family. Can't ask for more than that.

Happy birthday to me (version 2, part 4)

And now this year? Oh, boy.
That bear keeps getting smaller and my hair keeps getting longer. And, for the record, both Jonathan and I keep getting crazier.
And then three years ago:
Just two years ago:
That bear keeps getting smaller and my hair keeps getting longer. And, for the record, both Jonathan and I keep getting crazier.

Emma the photographer
Guess who got a hold of one of the cameras today? Here's a look Emma's view of the world from the other side of the lens:
Jonathan lounging around.
A portrait of Bitey, the fish.
What happens when you hold it this way?
Pretty flowers outside.
Dad in a puddle!
Even prettier tree flowers.
Hi, feet!

Ready for the title defense
We're still not sure why the first day of football isn't a national holiday. We should really have off.

Wettest soccer practice ever
The drill was supposed to be learning how to headbutt the ball, but we used water balloons instead. I'm not sure if the goal was to teach us new skills or to cool us down a little.

End of summer concert
There's just a little summer left, but there's still time for a concert at the park to hold onto a few of the last nice outside hours.
