Seriously, let's get the icing out here and get these cupcakes inside me.

Mythical creatures
Grandmom and Pop took us down to the Academy of Natural Sciences this week to see the latest exhibit -- mythical creatures. They were a little crazier than the things we usually see at the zoo.
The Kraken was Jonathan's favorite, because the tentacles were taller than him.
The Chinese dragons were a lot of fun too, but Grandmom said we couldn't take one home. Something about not knowing what to feed them. Frankly, I expected better from a dietitian.

Family portrait, 2019
If it's Easter Sunday, it's time again to show off how good we look together.

These eggs aren't going to dye themselves, you know.

Bottle rockets
Last week was bottle rocket design day at Cub Scouts. Let's see how they fly:
Wow, that's higher than I expected, and with just a little water and a bike pump. I guess you don't need rocket fuel.

It's a jungle out there
Remember that play I said we were doing at school? This week was curtain's up for our performance. And we nailed it, naturally.
I was with the hyenas. The role required a lot of laughing at nothing, which isn't easy. But, at least I mastered my line.
Of course, we had our own song too.
And at the end I got to thank my costume designer for her excellent work. I'd say it was a pretty successful run for the show.

Blockbuster idea
I think it's a pretty faithful interpretation of the movie. I mean, I haven't seen it, but I have seen the poster.

Track and field, 2019
I'm back on the spring track team this year, which means a new set of meets and a whole lot of different events. Here I am doing my best javelin toss.
And here's a look at my first 100-meter dash of the year:
And here I am for the 400-meter later on. It's the longest I've ever run at a meet, so I was pretty proud to make it to the end.
Dad says he'll keep track of my times to see if I improve over the season. I'm pretty sure I will.

Costume fitting day
Grandmom Shane found out I'm going to be a hyena in my upcoming school play, so she got to work immediately. It's nice to have a personal expert tailor in the family. Everyone should get one.
