Meeting of the minds

Neither one of us knows how to play chess, but neither one of us likes to lose either, so this could be a nasty battle.

OK, it's just a Lego White House, but it took a lot of work to put together and there were a lot fewer protestors around this one.

Time for Emma to start learning the classics. She's already trying to control things around the house with her mind, so some proper force training would probably help.

Sometimes the comfiest place to take a nap is just inside a warm coat. 

 

Even more more Christmas

Somehow it took us until mid-January to have our Christmas celebration with Ollie and Lexi, but better late than never. We got to spend a big chunk of the weekend hanging out with those two, and celebrating the ... 27th day of Christmas? Whatever, the world needs more holidays. 

And these two need more time to practice their rock star makeup together before they go on tour.

Planting seeds of knowledge

 

OK, they're actually marigold seeds. But they're for science class, so I'm learning something. Mostly that playing with dirt is fun in class too. 

Taking Pop for a walk

You really gotta get his legs moving, because if he doesn't get enough exercise, he gets super crabby and will not take his nap. 
 

Swing life away

Emma and I got a new swing for Christmas, so we had to test and see if it can handle all the screaming we could deliver. 

Animals up close

So, we did ... this. 

Mom found a drive-thru zoo where you can feed the animals, and Dad managed to get the car through without any major collisions. 

And it was crazy fun. We saw a bison, some cows and goats, and some very energetic donkeys. 

Mom even got in on the fun. And Emma ... tolerated it all. 

Learning life skills

 

Only a few more years until I need to start paying for gas money, so I better start learning how to hustle unsuspecting saps. 

Winter hike

The weather is still a little chilly, but the pond melted, so it's a nice break to get out and get some fresh air. 

Plus, Jonathan and I got a new picture for the cover of our upcoming indie rock album.
