Into the swamps of Dagobah

I'm still not sure if it's safe to land my ships near Emma's slime, but it does make this game more fun.

Party time, part 2

I got to have a big birthday party with friends at a local park this weekend, which is awesome because I have two years worth of celebrating pent up inside me.

So we had cake and snacks.

We had a pinata to whack.

And we had crafts and games and awesomness. So much fun. Let's have another one next weekend!

Party time, part 1

I'm seven years tall!

We've got balloons, we've got decorations, and we've got a party all over this house. Only thing missing is ...

Oh, good. I didn't think there was any way they'd leave out the sugar.

Happy birthday to me (version 2, part 7)

Mom and Dad like to talk about when Jonathan was smaller than our couch bear, and they used to think I'd never be bigger than him. But just to recap...

Here he is just a few days after I first came home:

And after one year:

This was when I was two :

Three years back? The bear got smaller:

And at age four, he started to lose even more size:

By age five, well...:

And last year I was past him for sure:

This year? Well...

He's a pretty squishable guy. Not as squishable as this other one, though:

Unfortunately, he is also ... very large.

Kayaking on Harness Creek

We used to be able to take a four-person canoe out on the water, but with some of us getting ... bigger ... that's not as safe anymore. So we took our two kayaks to explore one of the tributaries of the bay.

Good news is nobody tipped over. The bad news is we had to leave Mom stranded on this sandbar, because it was just too much work to paddle her back.

Testing out the fire truck

We're getting back to more and more place that have been shut down during the pandemic, and that meant a recent trip to our local library ... which has a fire truck inside. Don't think too long about that, just enjoy the wind blowing through our hair as we cruise down the road in our red giant.

PE day

I'm still not sure how I feel about jumping jacks, but I am in favor of having the whole class back again to do them with me.

Still time for baseball

It may be September, but there's still baseball in our backyard! We got a chance to hang out with Dad's friends and see our first livel baseball game in forever. The game was goo, but the popcorn was better.

Lost in the front yard

I don't remember what we were looking for, but whatever it was, it's not our here anymore.
