Feeling blue

I'm not saying that Mom's blueberry muffins weren't quite right this time, I'm just saying that I love the recipe and I want her make them again. 
 

Memorial Day parade

The audience for this year's Memorial Day parade was a little smaller, because Emma and Dad and I all walked in the parade instead of just watching. Emma twirled along the route with her dance class, and I marched with the Boy Scouts. The only way we could be more American is if we tatooed the flag on our arms (don't worry, we did not). 

We had a pretty big crowd for the scouts, but we gave out all our candy in the first 200 yards of the parade route. At least those youngsters were really, really happy. 

And Emma's troupe won a first-place prize for their performance! Not sure how they managed to dance after walking a mile in all that sun, but they were impressive. 

 

Swim season

Still a few days until the big pool opens, but we just couldn't wait! So our little backyard pool will have to do for now. 
 

Communion cover up

Forgot to include our favorite photo from the First Communion celebration. Since it was raining the morning of the event ...

... we had to improvise a little to protect that dress! 
 

Anniversary wishes

We wanted to wish Grandmom and Pop Shane a happy anniversary and ... well ... our film director had some notes.  

Axe throwing

It's harder than it looks. But if I don't practice now, how will I ever be able to chop an apple off of a cousin's head? 
 

Pretty in pigtails

Chances are these will fall out by third period, but at least I'm starting out the day looking fabulous. 

 

Dance practice

 Just a few more weeks until the recital, but we're getting there! 

Two kids and a frog

I wanted to keep him as a pet, but he's almost as big as Emma's hand, so that's probably more than our little indoor aquarium can handle. 

First communion

 Oh boy. Big day. 

Emma received her First Eucharist today, wearing a dress made by Grandmom Shane from Mom's wedding dress. And everything looked perfect. 

Even Jonathan cleaned up nice!

And even better was was getting to be around family and party the rest of the afternoon. Not a bad looking crowd right there.

Beach weather

It's still a little cold for swimming, but we made a trip out to Sandy Point recently to get ready for when the weather gets warmer. At least the sand is already ready for the summer!

And no trip to the point is complete without a walk out on the jetty. So our rock climbing skills are all warmed up for the summer Poconos trip too!
