Earning our keep

Sometimes Dad's hands get full, and it's up to Emma and me to help out. Bringing the recycling bin in isn't too tough for me, but this is one chore that Emma may still be a little too short for.

Hey, I got a question for you: What do you call a horse that lives next door? 

A neigh-bor. Get it?

Anyway they were doing pony rides in Grandmom Shane's neighborhood and we couldn't say no because pony rides are awesome.

Emma party number ... 2? 3? 4?

I don't know, there were a lot of parties. But this one I got to share my birthday with Shane, who turned five just a few weeks after I turned 4. Aunt Beth and Mom said he and I couldn't have the fancy cake all to ourselves, but I'm pretty confident we would have taken care of it.
