Spring!

It's really getting here! The weather is still too cool but the trees are getting ready for the heat. 
 

The heart of the museum

Oh, one more thing from our museum trip: Did we mention that they have A GIANT HEART YOU CAN WALK THROUGH in the exhibit hall? Because they do, and we walked through it a dozen times. The trip really gets your heart pounding, which is ironic, I think. 
 

Harry Potter and the trip to Philly

As an Easter bonus, we got to stop by the Franklin Institute's Harry Potter Exhibition this week. And while they didn't have any brooms for us to fly on, it was pretty awesome. 

Grandmom said she's going to sew a Bellatrix outfit for Emma, now that she got to examine the stitching from the real one up close. 

Pop got to sit with us in Hagrid's hut. You'd think that we'd all fit in a half-giant's chair, but you'd be wrong.  

But even smaller was a replica of Harry's bed under the stairs. I still thought I could get a quick nap in there if the staff would have let me. 

Emma wanted to open the Chamber of Secrets because she learned nothing at all from the books. 

And then we had a small magic fight just to brush up on our dueling skills. If Hogwarts sends a letter to us, we're totally ready. 
 

Easter portraits

I say it every year: We clean up nice. But Jonathan may be getting to tall for the front row of these pictures. 

Actually, Grandmom may be getting too short. Those Quinn boys are starting to catch up in height pretty quickly too. 
 

Easter prep

 

We got all our Easter eggs done in plenty of time for the brunch party, thanks to Grandmom and Pop's hard work. 

But getting the babka ready? That was alllll me this year.

I've got to start training Emma now in case she ever gets attacked by Spongebob or a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle out there.

Totin' chit

Another Boy Scout camping trip this weekend meant time for me to practice my pocketknife and saw skills. Just a few more lessons and I'll be able to build a log cabin from scratch. 
 

Stone Soup

Emma got to take part in her first school play this week, Stone Soup. And while she was excited to be part of the chorus, she made it clear she did not want to take center stage and have everyone looking just at her. 

That's why she stayed in the back, so she wouldn't stick out at all. 

Not sticking out at all. 

We'll try and work on her confidence and stage presence for next time.
