One other thing at Disney...

We picked up a lot of memories at Disney, but I lost something there too:

Yeah, my second tooth fell out. It was hanging by a thread all week, until I ran into Dad headfirst trying to get to an elevator.

No worries, the tooth fairy found me anyway. Only 22 more to go...

Everybody on the monorail.

Yeah, Animal Kingdom had dinosaurs too.

Tour of the parks

During our trip we spent at least one day at each of the major parks (and two at Magic Kingdom). Here's what they all looked like:

Magic Kingdom is probably the one you know best, because of the big castle in the middle. They had a lot of princesses running around, but Emma got carried everywhere, so I think she had a better deal than the Disney royalty.

Epcot had the giant golf ball right by the entrance. It's actually a pretty cool ride. Not as cool as the Nemo and Frozen rides we went on here, but pretty cool.

Animal Kingdom had a full safari ride, which was the closest I've ever gotten to giraffes and a lot of other animals. Mom said we couldn't take any home as souvenirs. She thinks small sometimes.

Hollywood Studios had all the Star Wars stuff, but also tons of Disney Junior stuff. Jake was there, but I didn't see the other Neverland Pirates. But I did find a gold doubloon, so that was nice.

Disney World!

Mom and Dad surprised us this week with a trip to Disney World down in Florida! Grandmom Doyle and Aunt Jul came with us too. We already got to ride a few rides and see some of the characters. Here we are in the resort posing with the big mouse himself. The plane ride down was super exciting too, but honestly I'll exhaust myself if I tell you all of it now.

Jonathan's photos from the Poconos

Mom, Dad and Emma didn't hang out up north in PA all week, but my camera and I did. Here's a few shots that I took of the sights up at Grandmom and Pop's mountain house:

Grandmom and Pop put up the flag before we go for a walk.

Walking alongside Mr. Harris' house.

Mr. Harris, working on his new dock.

Mom and Dad push Emma and Shane on the swings.

In the Harris' backyard.

A forest roadway.

A nice view from the beach.

Not bad, if I do say so myself. I'm not ready to fully replace Dad yet, but maybe I can give him a break sometime.

Boulder Field

How did they ever think up the name for this place?

Tommy and Shane joined us up the Poconos for one of the coolest places on earth, and we did our best rock climbing to get halfway out on the field.

Emma was too short to get over most of the boulders, but Dad and Pop Shane helped her out. I still think she would have climbed out there even if they hadn't. She's pretty adventurous.

Fishing from the new dock

This weekend was our annual summer trip to the Poconos, so you know what that means: quality time with the fish in the lake!

Emma hasn't been big enough to use the fishing gear before, but this year she was ready. I can't tell if she or Pop had more fun.

The best part of the whole thing is that Pop takes care of all the worms.

Summer camp concert

Jonathan and I had a pop-up concert at summer camp today. My class had the best costumes by far ...

... but our choreography was somewhat incomplete.

Jonathan's class didn't really get all that dressed up ...

... but their dance moves were much, much better.

Catching fireflies

Summer has the best bugs.

First it was the cicadas, and now there are fireflies all over our backyard. Emma and I spent last night trying to catch as many as we could right at sundown.

We would have stayed out there all night, but Dad said we still had to go to sleep. Spoilsport.

Showing our team colors

It was sports day at summer camp, so Emma and I both wore our team shirts to show off some of our favorite teams.

I should note that we're both wearing "my" shirts. Emma has on the size 3 Utley shirt I used to wear when I was shorter. She looks pretty good in it now.

Extreme swinging

Pop thought he knew everything about playgrounds, but he never tried dragging his head on the ground while swinging.

Making patterns

Well, I'm making faces too. But the patterns are impressive.

The only thing better than a dip in the hot tub is some cool watermelon afterwards.

Last day of T-ball

If school is all done, then T-ball is too. Here I am posing with the team after our last game. We only had four match-ups this season, but Dad says next year we're gonna expand to a full 162-game slate.

Last day of first grade!

You'll notice my uniform shirt is off and I am in relaxed summer mode now...

Queen for a minute

Wait a second ... I want a sword like Jonathan.

Bring me some grapes and fruit snacks -- I need my royal sustenance.

I told you I have big, strong muscles.

I have no idea who is winning.

Hunting for cicadas

There are a million of the bugs in our back yard! Jonathan and I have been finding hundreds of them and helping them get from the ground to the trees.

Well, Jonathan has been helping them. I've just been looking, because I don't want to pick them up. But Jonathan loves feeling them crawling on his hands.

Boys are gross.

Getting ready for T-ball

I don't have a team yet like Jonathan, but when I find one, watch out!

First T-ball game

It took a long time to get a sunny Saturday, but we finally had our first T-ball game on Saturday. Luckily, we had so much practice that we were ready.

Fielding was tricky, but batting was more fun. I think I should be a designated hitter.

Here I am at the plate:

And here I am coming into home when my teammate got another hit.

We might not have another game until September because of all this rain, but we had a lot of fun!

Future scientist

Looking at this bracelet in the microscope is fun and everything, but I'm gonna need something with much better magnifying powers if we're gonna get any real data over here.

Too much summer

And we're only in May.

Cheering on the horses

Dad turned on the Kentucky Derby so we could watch horses run around in a big circle, and, well, this happened:

Just relaxing with the dogs

Jonathan always picks the best seat in the house, so I figured I'd follow his lead.

Early college football cheer

For team jersey day at school, I wore my Ohio State shirt. I thought it looked great, but I need to work on my Heisman pose.

Gardening lessons

I thought the April showers brought May flowers. Why do we have to plant these then?

First sprinkler session of the year

80-plus degrees in April? We'd better make sure this thing is working so it's ready for the summer.
