Dog days of summer

You know, relaxing on the back lawn is a lot more fun than mowing it. Especially with this narrow-base mower.

Intro to video games 101

I'm teaching Dad how to play one of his racing games on TV. The important part is not to drive off the cliff. Except that's pretty fun too.

A walk in the woods

The property around church is really nice -- Dad and I even saw a deer there after services on Sunday. We should try having Mass outside more often.

Starting our rock band

So far, I've got drums...

And Ollie has lead guitar...

So now we just need a singer. And some rhythm.

Acrobatics

Recently, I discovered I can do handstands.

OK, Dad may have helped a little.

Summer lasts forever

... or at least I wish it did.

A day at the beach

Today, we all visited a beach on the Chesapeake Bay. It was just like swimming at the lake in the Poconos, but with waves!

We also had a great view of the Bay Bridge without having to drive on it. So we got to see all the boats without having to sit in traffic.

But the waves were the best part. You have no idea how exciting they are!

Getting ready for the baby

Mom, Dad and I spent the last few weeks getting the guest bedroom ready for when the baby comes, so she has a fun new room to sleep in. I was a little worried when they first talked about it, because that's where Pop Doyle sleeps, but they said he'll still be allowed to stay there when he visits. The baby will sleep on the porch, I guess. That's where Dad always says he's gonna make Aunt Kate sleep when she visits.

Building Jurassic Park

You'd think the Brachiosaurus' neck would be long enough to act as a crane, but union rules say they still need a full compliment of construction vehicles out here on this project.

Rewards of the harvest

Remember those tomato plants we put in the garden way back at the start of the summer? Today we picked 20 tomatoes off them. And there are still more green ones out there!

The best part of a garden?

We get to eat the results!

Fishing with Pop-Pop

I did so many things up the Poconos with Grandmom, Aunt Kate and everyone this week, but one of my favorite things was fishing with Pop-Pop and Tommy. We caught 16 fish this weekend (Dad's note: not an exaggeration) and some of them were as big as a bus! (Dad's note: That is an exaggeration).

Here I am posing with some of the fish. We named the first few, but after like four or five, we ran out of names. Tommy and I were sad to let them go, but Grandmom said they couldn't stay for lunch because she didn't have enough pans to fit them all. I don't know why they couldn't just sit on chairs like everyone else, but I'll catch them again next time I visit up there.
